Tennis star Ana Ivanovic asks divorce from Bastian Schweinsteiger after cheating storm

Ana Ivanovic has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband Bastian Schweinsteiger after a 9-year marriage, with the former German football star allegedly having an affair.

According to German outlet BILD, Ana Ivanovic filed for divorce from Bastian Schweinsteiger in November at the Munich District Court. In July, her representative Christian Schertz confirmed the breakup, attributing it to irreconcilable differences. The former tennis star 

It is also believed that Ivanovic has submitted the papers for child support in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. The former French Open Champion lives with her three sons, Luka, Leon, and Teo.

In June, German media reported that Schweinsteiger was seen kissing a woman believed to be his new girlfriend. The pair are thought to have known each other through their children, who attend the same school. The German press identified the woman as “Silva,” reportedly of Bulgarian nationality.

Ivanovic and Schweinsteiger first met in 2014. They married in July 2016, a year after the German footballer moved to Manchester United from Bayern Munich. The wedding ceremony took place in Venice, Italy, where the pair exchanged vows.

After 9 years of marriage, they had 3 kids: sons; Luka (born in 2018), Leon (born in 2019) and Theo (born in 2023).

Ivanovic retired from professional tennis in December 2016, having claimed 14 WTA titles in her career, including a French Open victory in 2018. She held the world No. 1 ranking for a total of 12 weeks in 2008.

Schweinsteiger, meanwhile, hung up his boots in 2019 following a distinguished career with Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Chicago Fire in MLS, and the German national team. The highlight of his career came with winning the 2014 World Cup.
