Lewandowski agent contacts Saudi clubs amid MLS rumor
Lewandowski’s contract expires in the summer of 2026, and there have so far been no talks between Barcelona and the Polish striker over a renewal. As a result, it is increasingly understood that the veteran forward will leave the club at the end of the season.
Recently, rumours suggested Lewandowski could join Chicago Fire in the MLS, with initial talks reportedly taking place between his representatives and the club. However, no decision has been made by either side. In a previous interview, Lewandowski stated that he is not in a hurry to decide his future, meaning clarity may only come in the January transfer window or even towards the end of the season.
Alongside the MLS links, more surprising reports have emerged suggesting Lewandowski is in contact with Saudi clubs. According to AS, his agent Pini Zahavi is set to meet with officials from the Saudi Pro League. The Polish striker has reportedly received a two-year offer with a salary far exceeding what MLS clubs could provide.
This season, Lewandowski is no longer Barcelona’s only option up front. Ferran Torres, after two quiet seasons, has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign, scoring 11 La Liga goals in 17 appearances. The Spanish forward is now viewed as the first-choice centre-forward, further casting doubt over Lewandowski’s role and future at the club.
At 37, Lewandowski has also struggled with injuries, having suffered three different issues since pre-season. Nevertheless, his impact at Barcelona remains undeniable. Since joining the club in 2022, he has made 116 appearances, scored 77 goals, won two La Liga titles (2022/23 and 2024/25), one Copa del Rey, and two Spanish Super Cups in 2023 and 2025.
This season, both Lewandowski and Barcelona are chasing a third league title together. The Catalan side finished 2025 at the top of La Liga, four points clear of second-placed Real Madrid. In the Champions League, Barcelona are currently 15th with two games remaining. With fixtures against Slavia Prague and Copenhagen still to come, they are expected to secure a top-16 finish and may even push for a place in the top eight.
