How much money do Barcelona and Real Madrid earn from the Spanish Super Cup?

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) increased the prize money for this year’s Spanish Super Cup, with total payments to Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid and Athletic Bilbao expected to reach around €21.3 million, up from €19 million in 2025.

Barcelona lifted the Spanish Super Cup trophy in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, after defeating Real Madrid 3-2 in the final. It was their 16th Super Cup title and a second consecutive triumph following their success in 2025.

As champions, Barcelona are set to receive €2 million in prize money. Real Madrid, as runners-up, will earn €1.4 million, while Atlético Madrid and Athletic Bilbao will each receive €800,000. In addition, the four clubs will share a combined €16.3 million in appearance and travel fees.

However, the overall distribution is not equal. Payments are determined by several factors, including sporting status, participation in international competitions and performance-based bonuses. Last year, Real Madrid received €6.15 million, Barcelona €6 million, Athletic Bilbao €2 million and Mallorca €850,000.

According to AS, the Spanish Super Cup generates around €51 million for the RFEF, largely through its commercial agreement with Saudi Arabia. From that figure, €26 million is allocated to clubs in the first, second and third divisions to support the development of football at lower levels.

The revenue from the Super Cup could further help improve Barcelona’s financial situation. In recent years, the club’s finances have shown signs of recovery, with the 2024/25 season ending with a positive ordinary result of €2 million. Club reports also indicate that Barcelona’s debt stands at €469 million, €90 million less than the previous financial year.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, remain the most valuable club in world football and continue to operate with strong financial stability. The club are currently negotiating major renewals with key sponsors Fly Emirates and Adidas, deals that could see their annual sponsorship revenue rise to around €300 million.
